Designed to Be Driven is a five-day European road trip created for people who genuinely enjoy using their cars.
From 16–20 September we’ll travel from Heidelberg through the Black Forest and into Austria, crossing the Grossglockner before heading west toward Lake Constance and finishing near the French/Swiss border.
The route combines flowing forest roads, high alpine passes and varied cross-country sections that make the journey as important as the destination. It’s a balanced itinerary with time to drive properly during the day and unwind together in the evening.
Why This Trip Works
Built Around the Roads
🏔️
The Grossglockner
Austria’s greatest mountain road — 36 hairpins, 2,504 metres at the summit, and views of the Pasterze Glacier. This is the centrepiece of the trip.
🌲
The Black Forest
Schwarzwaldhochstraße — Germany’s famous ridge road through dense pine forests with views over the Rhine Valley. Enclosed, aromatic, and completely different in character.
🍷
The Evenings
Four group dinners in carefully chosen restaurants. Time to unwind together after a day on the road. It’s a social trip, not just a driving one.
