1. Roman Bridge, Cangas de Onís
Although commonly known as the Roman Bridge, the structure seen today dates largely from the medieval period. Its dramatic stone arch and hanging Victory Cross make it one of Asturias’ most photographed landmarks.
2. Covadonga
Nestled high in the mountains, Covadonga is one of Spain’s most important historic and religious sites. The basilica and holy cave are linked to the birth of the Kingdom of Asturias and the beginning of the Reconquista.
3. Desfiladero de los Beyos
One of the most spectacular gorges in northern Spain. Towering limestone cliffs rise above the road while the Sella River winds through the valley below.

Another masterpiece by Gaudí, El Capricho is a colourful modernist villa decorated with ceramic sunflowers and distinctive architectural details.

Just a short walk from the town centre, this beautiful sandy beach offers stunning views across the Cantabrian coastline and is a perfect place to unwind after a day’s ride.
9. The Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao
Perhaps Spain’s most famous modern building. Designed by Frank Gehry, the museum transformed Bilbao and helped turn the city into a global cultural destination.
10. Bilbao Old Town
Lose yourself among narrow medieval streets, lively squares and traditional pintxos bars. It’s the perfect way to spend the hours before boarding the ferry home.
